Fabio Fognini (born 24 May 1987 in Sanremo) is a professional tennis player from Italy. His career high rank was #54, achieved on November 30, 2009. Career Fognini is 6-11 and 0--2 on non-Challenger ATP tour matches, however has made the finals of three singles tournament and one doubles tournament on the ATP Challenger tour. As of and on 21 April 2008, Fognini has reached World Number 66, his highest singles ranking. Fognini weighs 163 pounds and is 5 feet 10 inches tall. He currently resides in Taggia, Italy. The right-hander qualified for and lost in the first round of the French Open in 2007 and lost in five sets to Juan Mónaco, 6--3, 6--2, 1--6, 2--6, 4--6.[1] As of 27 June 2007, Fabio has won $USD$172083 in prizes. As shown on ESPN2, Fognini had a great run at the 2007 Rogers Masters in Montreal, Canada. He managed to qualify, beating Santiago Giraldo of Colombia 7--6, 5--7, 6--4.[2] He beat Peter Polansky of Canada and then went on to defeat talented top 20 player Andy Murray 6--2, 6--2, however Murray had been recovering from an injury. He played Roger Federer, ranked and seeded number 1, in the third round, where he lost 1--6, 1--6.[3] Fognini entered the world's top 100 on 19 November 2007, when he became World Number 94.
