Do You Really Need a Creatine Supplement For Superior Physical Performance?

Creatine is something that you will hear a great deal about in any gym in the world. Bodybuilders found out some time ago that a good creatine supplement had numerous benefits for their bodybuilding endeavors. But in the grand scheme of things, can't you get the body that you desire without the use of this supplement?

Creatine is, after all, usually only thought of as a performance enhancement supplement, meaning that it will enable you to do better during your workouts, but that it has few, if any, benefits beyond this. Research shows that this is a mistaken belief. Other people believe that because they eat plenty of red meat and fish, which has this compound in it naturally, that they don't need a creatine supplement. This is also a mistake.

First, it is true that it is a natural performance enhancer, but it enhances more than just your performance. It also enhances your body's performance, by increasing anaerobic performance when you are working out. This does allow you to workout longer and harder as well.

You see, muscles are comprised of four different biochemicals, which include fatty acids, glucose, ATP, and creatine phosphate. All of these are necessary in the exercise and strengthening of muscles, and all of these biochemicals work together. Unfortunately, there is only so much that these biochemicals can do, and if you want them to do more, you need a supplement, which provides more of those biochemicals in the muscles...particularly creatine.

As with most things, there are those who will tell you why you shouldn't take this supplement. They will claim that creatine causes muscle cramping. Unfortunately for them - and fortunately for you - science has proven that it has nothing to do with muscle cramps. Muscle cramps are caused by a lack of hydration and low electrolytes. Experts agree that you need to drink one glass of water for every serving of creatine that you have.

It is also important to note that your body can waste creatine. You see, the muscles store this compound as 'stored energy' and use it as they are called upon to do more than they could without those stores. But you must think of your muscles as a container. Any container can only hold so much of any substance or item. Containers are not 'bottomless' and neither are your muscles. So, the muscles can only store so much of this compound at any given time. Experts agree that 10 grams of creatine a day is all that is really needed in terms of creatine supplements, because the muscles cannot store more than this.

While creatine improves your muscles response to your workouts, there are certain substances that actually improve upon it as well. Research has shown that creatine taken with Ribose increases the ATP in muscle cells. You can find products that now contain creatine and Ribose, and results of those who take a creatine supplement that contains Ribose have been great.

Caffeine is also great for creatine. As you know, however, too much caffeine isn't good for you. Experts advise one cup of coffee prior to a workout, which contains about 250mg of caffeine. You may need to experiment with caffeine with your creatine supplement, because everyone seems to have different reactions to caffeine.

The Inner Workings of Bodybuilding Super Supplement Gakic

All forms of exercise, but especially intense exercise like body building, will eventually cause an accumulation of ammonia in the muscular tissues, causing the burning sensation known as "metabolic failure." Ammonia buildup will minimize your performance, leaving you fatigued as your body's glycogen formation drips, and your energy production cycle is blocked.

You athletic performance will decline in direct proportion to the amount of ammonia in your blood, and Gakic is one of the few bodybuilding supplements which has been proven in clinical studies to lengthen the time--by as much as 28%--it takes for its users to reach metabolic failure from ammonia buildup.

If you're a body builder, you probably have heard of creatine, one of the compounds found in your muscle fibers. Creatine is responsible for your muscles being able to manufacture ATP, or Adenosine Triphosphate, the source of almost all your body's energy. As long as your ATP supply is adequate, your muscles will continue to contract.

Creatine supplements are designed to boost your body's stores of creatine so that it can manufacture more ATP. Gakic, on the other hand, is designed to boost ATP by decreasing the amount of ammonia which is a by-product of intense exercise. Ammonia interferes with your body's ability to create ATP, and the longer you can stave off the ammonia buildup, the longer your workout can continue!

Formulated to be taken no more than 45 minutes prior to a workout, and containing neither creatine nor stimulants, Gakic inhibits the accumulation of ammonia when its ketoisocaproic acid is transformed into the amino acid leucine, which neutralizes the ammonia molecules which build up in your muscle tissue as by-products of your workout. The glycine and arginine in Gakic then work to transport the neutralized ammonia, in the form of uric acid, away from your muscles to be excreted as urine.

A lower concentration of ammonia in your muscles means that they will maintain the strength of their contractions longer into your workout before the fail from exhaustion, so you can benefit from more reps at higher resistance and reach your bodybuilding goals much sooner!

Prolab Creatine - A Top Quality Supplement For Peak Performance

Creatine has been used by bodybuilders and professional athletes for quite some time now and Prolab creatine is one of the best forms of the supplement on the market. Top athletes are always looking to gain the competitive edge and any little bit of improvement they can get in performance or during training can mean the difference between winning and losing.

Creatine was first discovered back in 1832. Over 90 years later the first reports of creatine possibly having positive effects for bodybuilders was published in the Journal of biological chemistry in 1926. This supplement gained more attention when some athletes at the Barcelona Olympic Games in 1992 were using the supplement. Since then it has gained more and more popularity every year.

When muscles are used to perform any type of work adenosine triphosphate or ATP is broken down for energy. ATP is used up rapidly by the muscles and creatine which is a naturally occurring substance that is actually produced by the human body is used to replenish ATP. Athletes and bodybuilders will tell you that creatine gives them that extra boost of energy they need to complete a few more reps during each set of a workout. It provides the extra energy needed during short bursts of intense activity

In addition to playing an important role in supplying our muscles with energy, creatine can also help reduce the amount of lactic acid produced by our muscles during strenuous exercise which will help you be able to perform longer and recover faster after a workout. Being able to complete more reps and also increase recovery time gives a lot of bodybuilders and athletes the edge they are looking for. Although our bodies produce creatine naturally and it can also be found in some of the foods we eat like meat and fish, supplements are the only way to get a sufficient amount of creatine for people with a strenuous workout regimen and that's where Prolab comes in.

Prolab creatine is produced in Germany in an ISO certified factory. ISO certification is the highest standard achievable by a laboratory or factory which means that prolab products meet the highest possible standards of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Prolab creatine is processed with the very best ingredients and a patented process of manufacturing takes place in a state of the art refinery. They also carefully test their products for any impurities in an effort to supply the very best product possible to their customers

Protein supplements

Supplements vary not only in the effect but as well as with the cost. Mostly, the ones that are costly are better but, not all the time. So be wise in choosing so what you'll spend will be worth it.

Protein-rich supplements are good since it is made up of amino acids and which helps our body bulk. It is the best when it comes to muscle building, safe and effective. You can rest assure that you will get great results afterwards.

Whey and Casein are the two known source of amino acids. However, whey digests quickly and Casein is slower. So if your body needs to have lots of protein then you need to consume more whey and if your body needed a longer process then casein will do just fine. Put together, whey and casein will most definitely provide you body continuous source of protein for muscle building. Vegetarians on the other hand may use soy products in replace with whey and casein.

Creatine supplements

Creatine is very good in increasing the bodies ATP which will enable you to gain more pounds. Some would say that it kind of acts like a steroid but, no it is not. It is medically safe to use and is legal nor is it banned for professional or sports use.

However, those who have some sort of kidney problems or disorders are not advisable to take creatine as it may trigger such disorder.

Glutamine supplements

Glutamine is an amino acid that helps our muscles recover quickly, so taking glutamine supplements would help the body gain more weight and build muscle.

However, when you take glutamine and creatine together, you should not be taking them at an exact same time. Advisable is to take glutamine before you workout or exercise and to take creatine afterwards.

HMB supplements

HMB is similar to glutamine; it is also a significant amino acid which burn fats when you exercise. Glutamine and HMB are two of the most important type of amino acids when you wanted to build muscles, so it is quiet good and safe to be taking more of these two in to your body to speed up muscle building

Natural Testosterone Boosters

This is also good for muscle building although they have similar effect with steroids, they are quiet safer and is legal to use. What it does is to help you gain more muscle, have a great mood, maintain good heath. In short, it will make you strong, happy and relatively healthy.

Just an Important Reminder

Too much of anything is not good and that does not exclude consuming supplements. If you're dehydrated it is not advisable and unhealthy to be taking in supplements rich in protein/amino acids, creatine and nitrogen for this may cause some distress to the kidneys.

In other words, always drink water all day long.

How to Apply the Creatine Protein Supplement

The creatine protein supplement is a based upon the naturally occurring creatine, which occurs in certain foods, and within the human body. The creatine in the human body is primarily found in the muscles and act as a supply source of energy to the muscles. The acid was discovered as a component of skeletal muscle in 1832. This organic acid is furthermore not found in vegetables, and is primarily found in meat.

During strenuous workouts, the creatine protein supplement is especially helpful to the user in that it aids in the production of Adenosine Triphosphate, otherwise referred to as ATP. This source of energy is used by the body, and specifically the muscles particularly during short bursts of activity. This is therefore not completely recommended for the endurance sports person, as a different sort of energy production and requirement is needed for those long and arduous activities that they participate in.

The creatine protein supplement is available in a variety of forms and applications, which represents a great advantage for the user, as certain forms may not provide as beneficial results as others, which means that if you do take the creatine protein supplement in one form, and you do not realise the benefits thereof then you should try another form. The forms that are available vary from the monohydrate, to capsules and powder form and even available in that of the liquid form.

The process within which the creatine protein supplement functions is essentially based upon the amount of water that the supplement pulls from across the body and transfers to the muscles. Therefore should you be using this supplement it is vital that you drink plenty of water and remain hydrated so that the supplementation process can run correctly as well as to avoid any potential side effects that may result due to dehydration.

The process of supplementation can be conducted via either before or after your exercising routine or both, however you only need five grams per day. If you take the creatine protein supplement before the workout then the benefits related thereto are that it provides you with additional energy which enables you to work out a little longer or with greater effort. Whilst supplementing after the exercise or work out regime will encourage faster muscle repair.

There are side effects associated with the intake of this supplement, none of which are life threatening, but the importance of remaining hydrated and drinking lots of water must be reemphasized as dehydration is definitely not an ideal situation to find yourself in. It has furthermore been analyzed and accepted by the European Food Safety Authorities, which are relatively strict in terms of supplements and related products. The creatine protein supplement offers value and a fast track in strength training on a completely natural basis.

Choosing the Right Muscle Building Supplement

The marketplace is full of supplements available for the average person to take to help their work out program, especially when it comes to weight lifting and bodybuilding. The wide variety of supplements available claim to do great things for the body, but aren't always clear on what exactly they do for you. Some provide only limited benefit while some should be an integral part of your diet, but figuring out which ones are best for you can be difficult.

For those looking for the best supplement for their body, creatine is noted to be the best at doing the job while also being relatively safe for you at small to medium doses. Supplements with creatine work to build lean muscle, meaning that you can develop more muscle without adding more overall fat mass in the process. These supplements also provide your muscles with easily synthesized ATP, which is the source of energy used in the building of muscle mass in the body.

In addition to the necessary energy levels, the body needs to have some levels of essential fats, which are another type of supplement. Essential fats provide the body with certain types of fats, notably Omega-3 and Omega-6, that can help regulate the growth of muscle and provide a source of energy for the body to use in muscle growth.

Another good bodybuilding supplement used by many workout warriors is a protein supplement. These supplements provide the body with different forms of protein without having to ingest as many calories from fat and other sources. The raw protein works to synthesize both the growth of muscle mass as well as provide the body energy to move and otherwise function after the workout is over.

The biggest concern with muscle mass from a workout program, once built up, is the eventual breakdown of it over time without proper maintenance. To this end, one of the best supplement to take is known as glutamine. This muscle building supplement not only works to provide some proteins for the growth of muscle, but also works to slow the breakdown of muscle tissue within the body.

Above all, the body of a weight lifter needs to have more of many different types of vitamins and minerals beyond the raw proteins and carbohydrates supplements provide. This is why all bodybuilding supplement regimens include a potent multivitamin to allow for the body to replenish vital nutrients to the bloodstream. This can enable your body to recover from workouts better and faster, as well as improve your overall health condition.

These nutritional supplements, as with any additional nutrients being taken in, should be used as prescribed by packaging or a professional. When used properly, they can provide the weight lifter the extra boost you need to keep your energy level up and your body in peak condition. Choosing the right supplement may not be easy, but choosing the right one can be a great boost to building muscle mass.

Perfect Acai - What My Wish List For the Perfect Acai Supplement Would Look Like

Perfect is a pretty subjective measure of anything. After all, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

We all think our kids are perfect, right? Pretty sure my kids have some faults, but in my eyes, they will always be perfect. My point being, sometimes it's difficult to measure perfect.

Off the subject of kids and back to the subject of the perfect acai supplement for a minute, and perfect becomes a measurable quantity.

My wish list for the perfect acai supplement would pretty much boil down to the following:

Acai Content : 500mg. anything less than that and I won't get my antioxidant buzz, so the 500mg content is pretty much carved in stone. With the ORAC value of the acai being what it is, 500mg per capsule sees me well into the upper USDA daily recommendations for antioxidant intake, which is where you should really aim to be.

Acai Quality : Organic, Sambazon. Why settle for anything less than the best here? Nobody is giving these acai capsules away, so for my hard earned cash, I expect the best. The best here combines with an organic farming policy that is good for the environment and the indigenous tribes in the Amazon. What's not to like?

Acai Source : Freeze dried acai pulp. Nothing else. If it's not freeze dried acai pulp I'm simply not interested. If I were a squirrel, I might go for anything made of acai seeds, but I'm not, so I don't.

Capsule or Liquid : The winner is, wait for it...Acai Capsules. The acai berry is a fragile little beast. Pick it and it soon starts to spoil. Add anything to it, and it spoils even more. Acai juices, like any packaged juice, need the addition of preservatives to stay fresh. After all, any liquid with a 12 month shelf life must have stuff added to it. Me, well I'll go for the capsule form any day of the week. No fillers, no additives and certainly no preservatives.

So my perfect acai supplement would be in capsule form, made from organic Sambazon freeze dried acai pulp, with an acai content of 500mg per capsule.

No additives, no fluff, no fillers.

How L-Glutamine Works as a Supplement

Many of those who use L-Glutamine don't consider it a serious supplement and insist there are no side effects. It doesn't make you bigger, or stronger, or give you energy, or burn fat, or do anything like that, yet it could be one of the most useful supplements around.

L-Glutamine is an amino acid, exactly like protein. Because it's the most abundant free amino acid in muscle tissue it plays a principal role in protein metabolism, and anti-catabolism. Anti-catabolism is the reason most body builders take L-Glutamine. Catabolism is the breaking down of muscles, which is something no one, in particular body builders wants to happen. When you do cardio or aerobic activities they can have a catabolic effect on your muscles. Your body needs something to burn for energy when you jog, run, walk, ride a bike or take an aerobics class and sometimes you body uses your own muscle for energy. This is where L-Glutamine comes in. It allows you to maintain as much muscle as possible and prevents muscle cell breakdown.

L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid found in the body, and plasma glutamine levels are the highest of any amino acid. L-Glutamine is predominantly synthesized and stored in skeletal muscle. The amino acid L-glutamate is metabolized into L-Glutamine in a reaction catalyzed by the enzyme glutamine, which in addition to L-Glutamate requires ammonia, ATP and magnesium glutamate.

Many people find that L-Glutamine works best when they are in their cutting up phase, or any other time when you are trying to loose fat. During this phase you're trying to loose fat while at the same time you want to maintain as much muscle as possible. L-Glutamine can be very useful to anyone trying to do this because it is an anti-catabolic.

Although you probably aren't aware of it, you may already be taking L-Glutamine.

It's one of the ingredients of any whey protein supplement, which usually includes a few grams of it. However, this supplement is the most effective when you take about 10-15 grams daily, with the best times being first thing in the morning and right after your workout.

L-Glutamine comes in both powder and capsule form. If you take it in powder form that saves money, don't worry about the taste because it is completely tasteless and mixes with anything including water. Besides being found in many protein supplements, L-Glutamine can also be found naturally in beans, meat, fish, poultry and dairy products.

L-Glutamine is found throughout the body and plays an important role in protein metabolism. From a bodybuilder's point of view, L-Glutamine's strength is its ability to reduce the amount of muscle deterioration that happens as a result of intense physical workouts. Failing to replace the high levels of glutamine that are consumed during intense exercise can result in a greater susceptibility to illness due to weakening of the immune system. Also, L-Glutamine taken from the muscles to maintain the immune system must be replaced to keep those muscles building.

As a nutrient that occurs naturally in the body glutamine is safe to take although ingesting excessive amounts could cause an upset stomach.
