FAQ - Androhair used for laser phototherapy Female Hair Loss How It Works

Androhair The new system is the comb laser is an ideal solution for female hair loss. Most women's hair loss can usually telogen effluvium, which is a diffuse (or spread out) shedding of hair and scalp, about th money returned.

There is usually an intense effort on physical or hormonal systems associated or drug reaction.

I was able to meet a woman at any age and may start without warning and usually clearonly after about six months.

If you see a problem of hair loss, inform your doctor can prescribe treatment or course of action.

The less common forms of hair loss androgenetic alopecia in women, the effects at any time 13% of the female western population. Often comes with the female menopause.

Hair loss This condition is characterized by a chemical called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, which consists of androgens (male hormones that all women will) Produced by the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase.

This causes the tinning of the women's hair around the scalp, but especially on the sides and top of head. Driving is visible on scalp hair and a woman appear older than his chronological age.

Androgenetic alopecia unfortunately does not care about nature and requires some form of treatment to counter the effects of f.

There are drastic and expensive formsThe treatment, like hair transplants, where small punch-holes in the skin with few hair follicles from other body parts (like the back of the head to be taken if this is still well covered) and implanted into the thinning areas.
Then there is scalp reduction where devices are inserted under the skin in areas of the scalp to stretch the hair so, then the redundant bald areas are removed. Alternatively, the strip of the scalp can be moved around the head.

A woman canalso try cosmetic alternatives such as make-up and wigs.

There are some treatments can be used and it is laser phototherapy. Laser phototherapy uses a laser diode in the red region of the visible spectrum. laser energy is also collimated which means it is a beam of light energy that spreads or yields little at great distances, while a lamp loses its brightness very quickly with distance.

Studies with specific wavelengthslaser show some increased activity in cell and bacterial cultures, probably the result of ATP production. In simpler terms the laser phototherapy stimulates the weakened follicles and combined with an increase in blood flow leads to greater cellular metabolism. In other words, increases blood flow to the scalp allowing hair follicles healthy hair growth thicker.

Laser phototherapy (the patented Androhair) has been shown to take the harmful DHTchemical that causes hair loss in the first place. And 'two part process allows the scalp to restore and promote naturally healthy and thicker growth. Laser photo therapy invigorates the scalp and can give an answer to the question of female hair loss.

HIIT: The Latest Skinny on Weight Loss

I know there are many recent articles on High Intensity Interval Training. However, I think most of them do not fully and/or clearly explain this training modality. I hope this article will help remedy this situation.

I know most of us were told that when we are in an aerobic state which raises our Heart Rate (HR) to over 70% of our maximum Heart Rate (MHR), we can not burn fat for fuel. This was simply based on our understanding of the nature of the chemical processes our cells use to replenish their supply of fuel.

However, lots of new studies with well documented results indicate that we obviously don't know exactly what is going on at the cellular level, because this research shows that we burn more calories from fat at these higher HR levels than we do at lower ones. And this is on top of burning more carbohydrates as well. One study with 17 participants conducted over a 20 week period showed that the HIIT group lost over three times the amount of measured body fat as the endurance training group!

What is clear is that HIIT is the way to go to burn fat and conserve muscle mass. This is because if we do just high intensity training, we will burn through our stores of carbohydrates and not burn fat. Thus, we will start to breakdown our muscles to make carbs for fuel inorder to cintinue exercising. Somehow, training with Intervals avoids this muscular breakdown and allows the use of Fats for fuel instead of muscle.

Perhaps this is do to the fact that during the lower intensity training periods our body uses fat for fuel; and somehow, it also uses fat to replenish our stores of ATP which we burned through during the High Intensity periods. Then, when we do our next HI interval, we have the fuel we need, in the form we need it. This will spare our muscles and allow us to keep working.

As also pointed out in almost all of the HIIT articles, much of the additional burning of calories occurs after we have finished exercising. This fact can allow us to burn more total calories from a shorter HIIT workout than from a longer Steady State (non-Interval) exercise workout. This is important for all of us (not just those with limited time to spend) because unless we are extremely fit to start with, we will not be able to perform HIIT for as long as non-HIIT.

Remember, HIIT is very physically demanding. You must make sure your are fit enough to handle the additional stresses it will place on your body. If you have any doubts, consult with your doctor.

Although there are many variations of HIIT, here are some (which I published in my Newsletter) that are not as physically demanding as most of them and will still get you on the road to the results you want:

This program can be done on any form of cardio equipment or even jogging outside or swimming laps:

* Start with an easy 4 minute warm up, casually increasing your pace to the one that you usually maintain for your workout.

* Once you are sufficiently warm, sky rocket your intensity for 30 seconds.

* Return to your normal pace for the next 30 seconds and then sky rocket again.

* Repeat this 30-30 interval for 6 minutes and then gradually decrease your intensity as you enter a cooling off pace.

After your HIIT session you can expect to burn more calories due to an increase in your metabolism - sounds good, right? If you aren't fit enough to jump into a full-fledged HIIT session, you may consider trying one of the following modified HIIT workouts:

Modified HIIT 1:

* Start with at least a 5 minute warm up, casually increasing your pace to the one that you usually maintain for your workout.

* Once you are sufficiently warm, increase your intensity for a full minute.

* Return to your normal pace and remain here until you have recovered enough to go again.

* Repeat this 1 minute interval with full recovery time between each one for the full extent of your workout and then gradually decrease your intensity as you enter a cooling off pace.

Modified HIIT 2:

* Start with at least a 5 minute warm up, casually increasing your pace to the one that you usually maintain for your workout.

* Once you are sufficiently warm, change your speed and intensity for 2 minutes.

* Return to your normal pace for 2 minutes and then change your intensity and speed again. The key is to keep your body guessing - you aren't doing full intensity work, but you also aren't staying at the same pace for the entire length of the workout.

* Repeat this 2 minute interval for the full extent of your workout and then gradually decrease your intensity as you enter a cooling off pace.

Of course, as you become fitter, you can increase the time of High Intensity and lower the Recovery Periods to match your increased Aerobic capacity to the point where you are using a 1:1 ratio of HIgh Intensity to Recovery.

Nurse's Report: Breaking News: New Non-Invasive Light Therapy Now Being Used to Treat Severe Acne

Finally after two decades of research, combination light therapy is being used to treat severe cases of acne successfully.

What is new is that acne is being treated with the right combination of red light and blue light, not individually, as has been done in the past.

This is a great change from the standard treatment of poisoning or cutting the acne patient. By poisoning and cutting I mean taking drugs (medications) or undergoing surgery.

It's non-invasive, non-pharmacological (no drugs) and completely natural. There may be some side effects to be aware of however with all light therapy.

This light therapy, which is made up of light-emitting diodes, or LEDs, is most often used to apply concentrated doses of light to patients. LEDs are not lasers. The tissue doesn't get hot and the treatment is totally painless.

LED light is compressed light from the red and infrared spectrum of the electromagnetic radiation. It reaches the cellular power plants of low-lying cells too, and is absorbed by the collector surfaces as an additional source of energy.

The cellular power plants can thus produce more ATP. The cellular energy is the fuel the skin cells look for and needs.

A sufficiently high supply of cellular energy enables our skin cells to work under optimum conditions and is necessary for a successful self-healing process.

So light apparently works on human tissue at the cellular level. This helps the body repair itself and heal faster.

Light can also change the speed of certain chemical processes by speeding them up or slowing them down.

Light therapy, which medically speaking, is called photo rejuvenation, refers to all treatment and devices that use powerful wavelengths of light, sometimes called "cold laser", but is not actually laser, applied to skin.

There are four kinds of light being used in the medical field today. They are: near infrared light, red light, blue light, and ultraviolet light (UV).

The two kinds of light being used together in this new research, for severe acne, are red light and blue light.

Red light is visible. Infrared light is not visible. Red light seems to help wounds heal faster. It has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect and can kill bacteria on the spot.

More technically, visible red light, when it's at the proper wavelength, penetrates the human tissue at a depth of approximately 8mm-10mm. Skin layers, because of their high blood and water content, easily absorb red light.

It's extremely beneficial in treating problems near the surface, such as acne, acne scars, wrinkles, age spots, broken capillaries, wounds, cuts, other scars, and trigger points. It's also particularly effective in treating infections.

Red light promotes increased circulation, stimulates collagen production, diminishes age spots, stimulates tissue repair, promotes healing stimulation, releases enhancing enzymes, and increases lymphatic system activity.

It also relieves pain, kills or disables temperature-sensitive bacteria and viruses, and performs cellular cleansing and healing.

Blue light is used as an anti-bacterial agent.

Blue light therapy was one of the first light-based therapies used for acne treatment. Blue light works by killing the acne-causing bacteria, P. acnes, and has been used to treat inflammatory acne vulgaris that hasn't responded to other acne therapies.

The blue-light products of today do not contain ultraviolet (UV) light, which used to be used as a light therapy to treat acne. UV light can damage the skin and is no longer used to treat acne.

It's this proper combination of red light and blue light therapy, working together in a special way, which will reduce and heal the severe acne that has plagued so many.

It's always best to seek non-invasive treatment for any condition. Invasive treatment would mean anything that invades or therefore penetrates the body in some way. Drugs or medications would be an example of this.

In this case it's a great alternative to drugs or even surgery for long suffering acne patients. Treating acne and possibly acne scars with this proper combination is revolutionary.

Acne sufferers are beginning to see the light! It won't be long before everyone is using this combination light therapy and some may have access to it now. Discuss this new acne treatment with your skin doctor, skin specialist or dermatologist.

FAQ - Androhair Uses Laser Phototherapy For Female Hair Loss How Does it Work

The androhair is the new laser comb system that is an ideal solution to female hair loss. Most women hair loss can usually be attributed to telogen effluvium, which means there is a diffuse (or widely spread out) shedding of the hairs and around th scalp.

It is usually associated to intense stress on the body's physical or hormonal systems or as a reaction to medication.

The condition can strike a woman at any age and can begin without any warning and will usually clear itself up after around six months.

If you have a hair loss problem please consult your doctor who can prescribe treatment or course of action.

The less common forms of women's hair loss is androgenetic alopecia that at anytime effects 13% of the female western population. It is often associated with the on set of the female menopause.

The hair loss of this condition is due to a chemical called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, which is made from androgens (male hormones that all women produce) by the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha reductase.

This causes the tinning of the women's hair all over the scalp but will predominately be over the sides and top of the head. It will lead to the scalp becoming visible through the hair and make a woman appear older than her chronological age.

Androgenetic alopecia unfortunately doesn't naturally cure itself and requires some form f treatment to counteract it effects.

There are drastic and expensive forms of treatment such as hair transplant surgery where tiny punch-holes of skin containing a few follicles of hair are taken from elsewhere in the body (such as the back of the head, if this is still well covered) and implanted into the thinning areas.
Then there is scalp reduction where devices are inserted under the skin to stretch areas of scalp that still have hair, then the redundant bald areas are removed. Alternatively, flaps of hairy scalp can be moved around the head.

A woman can also try cosmetic alternatives such as make-up and wigs.

There are then certain treatments that can be used and one is laser phototherapy. Laser phototherapy uses a laser diode operating in the red portion of the visible colour spectrum. Laser energy is also collimated which means it is a tight beam of light energy that spreads or diverges only a little at great distances while a light bulb loses its brightness very quickly with distance.

Studies using specific wavelengths of certain lasers show increased activity in cell and bacterial cultures, probably the result of ATP production. In simpler terms the laser phototherapy stimulates the weakened follicles and combined with increased vascularization leads to greater cellular metabolism. In other words it increases the blood flow to the scalp thus leading to healthy hair follicles allowing thicker hair growth.

Laser phototherapy (the patented androhair system) has also shown to take away the harmful DHT chemical that causes the hair loss in the first place. It two part process allows the scalp to naturally recover and promote healthier and thicker growth. Laser photo therapy invigorates the scalp and can provide an answer to the female hair loss question.

What is Creatine Loading, and is it a Better Way to Build Muscle?

If you are a serious bodybuilder, you have more than likely heard of the term, creatine loading. If you have heard of the term, but you are not quite certain exactly what it means, this article will give you a little more insight into a practice that a lot of bodybuilders swear by.

Creatine is a substance that occurs naturally in some of the high protein foods that we eat and is also manufactured by our bodies. When our muscles need energy to perform work they get this energy from ATP (adenosine triphosphate). Creatine plays an important role in regenerating a depleted ATP supply in our muscles. Many bodybuilders think that if a little creatine is good then more is certainly better and this leads a lot of people to experiment with taking various dosages of the supplement.

Many athletes and bodybuilders believe that they can optimize their muscle growth and strength gain by cycling their creatine dosages, taking a larger than usual dose for a period of time and then taking the regular, recommended dose for a period of time. The larger doses in the beginning of the cycle would be the creatine loading phase and the smaller doses are a maintenance phase.

Creatine can definitely help you have more effective workouts, gain muscle mass, and even reduce recovery time after a workout but there is some disagreement over whether creatine loading is beneficial or if you're just wasting your money on extra supplements. The recommended dosage of 5 grams is perfect for most people. For hard-core bodybuilders and elite athletes a loading and maintenance cycle may have some benefits. While just about anybody that works out can benefit from creatine supplementation, studies have shown that some people respond to loading and cycling and others do not.

For the people whose bodies do not respond to loading and cycling, extra supplementation is excreted from the body so there is really no point in taking more than the recommended dosage. For people that do respond positively to creatine loading other studies have shown that the effect is greatest during the first 48 hours so the loading phase should be no more than two or three days before you go into the maintenance phase of the cycle. The only way to be certain whether you will respond to creatine loading is to try it for yourself and monitor the results.

Resveratrol Supplements - Great Or Ineffective?

Resveratrol is found naturally in food products, plant products to be specific. It is a chemical that the plant releases when it is injured or sick. This chemical is phytoaxelin that is produced by plants to ward off disease and repair injured sections of the plants.

There has been some studies involving small rodents that have indicated that this substance can lower blood sugar, lower blood pressure is an anti cancer compound and has other positive cardiovascular effects. Most of these results have yet to be proven in human subjects. There have been studies with fruit flies and short lived fish, where the chemical has extended the life cycle in each, this has not been replicated in mice. It has also been used in studies involving diabetic rats, over a period of thirty days the diabetic rats were given Resveratrol supplements and their blood sugars were markedly reduced, again this has yet to be duplicated in humans.

As with any new wonder drug, these supplements is widely available. They can be found through a host of vendors. These supplements can be found in most vitamin shops, drug stores, and discount warehouse stores and through online vendors.

There is a lot of hype regarding being able to purchase this online. These supplements can be purchased from many online vendors, many of them offering "free trial periods" -- this of course does not come without a catch. Some of these companies offer a free trial period than also offer a service of automatic shipments each month. This may seem like a convenient alternative but the reality is some of these companies are not exactly honest and getting them to stop sending them may be no easy feat. There have been reports of the attorney general's in various states having to get involved to get these companies to release people from being charged.

Avoid products that are called proprietary blends. Resveratrol supplements can add to heart health and may result in other health benefits. Using them just may be the fountain of youth, but only time and further testing will tell.

Recovery - The Missing Link to Performance

After watching the summer Olympics, I was in awe of Michael Phelps who event after event seemed to be able to be at the top of his game. That is a phenomenal feat for a meet of any length. Parents of soccer players, who usually have game after game, during tournaments, know how difficult this can be. What you may or may not be aware of is the team of exercise physiologists that were working with Michael after every event. After the event he'd cool down, at certain intervals he'd give a drop of blood, have it analyzed for lactic acid content and either quit cooling down so not to fatigue himself or keep going to flush his system. This is truly where science and performance intertwine. How cool is that?

But, as a parent of a non-Olympian (yet) I don't have the luxury of having a team of scientists work with my child to determine her optimal recovery either after events or after training. However, fitness professionals, trainers, and coaches alike are keen on determining keys to helping their athletes recover from their workouts, events, games, and tournaments. Here are a few tips to help your athlete stay on top of their game:

1. Hydrate, the magic word in human performance. After exercise and training our systems are depleted, we need H2O to help flush the lactic acid out of the muscle and cells. Every function in the body is dependent on water. When we train or compete we use up a lot of water so it's vital that we replenish our systems.

2. Fuel, the proper fuel can also help restore ATP in the muscle and the proper nutrition for training can aid in recovery. Some good choices are: apples, nuts, peanut butter, honey, and eggs. Watch that your tired athlete doesn't pick up a sugar laden snack because their blood sugar is low and they're trying to get it back up rapidly. This will backfire and create an additionally acidic environment. It is best to eat within 1/2 hour of training.

3. Massage is great, however, not necessarily practical. A good substitute is a foam roller that can help break down fascia in the muscle and flush the muscles. You can get a decent foam roller at Target and they should have with them directions and simple exercises. Don't over use the foam roller by staying more than a few seconds in one spot. An alternative is called the "Stick" which can be used in a similar fashion.

4. Rest; make sure your athlete is getting enough rest nightly. Additionally, your coach should understand periodization during the training and competition season.

5. Supplementation; I truly believe that it's vital to supplement every day regardless of whether or not you're an athlete. However, I feel that athletes are in special need of a special sports nutritional supplement. But you have to be aware of what you're giving your child, as not all supplements are created equal. The proper supplement can help reduce cramping, pain and inflammation, and recovery time. Additionally, the proper sports nutritional supplement can increase performance and endurance. Low Level Laser Light Therapy In The Treatment Of Hair Loss

INTRODUCTION

Low Level laser Light Therapy (LLLT) is an internationally accepted name for biostimulation with low energy lasers in order to achieve therapeutic desired effects. Traditionally, LLLT falls under the realm of Physical Medicine, which uses stimulation therapy to activate the body's natural defense mechanisms. When LLLT is the stimulus, the treatment modality is known as PHOTOBIOSTIMULATION.

LLLT has been indicated in sports medicine, physical/manual medicine, dermatology and neuroendocrine disorders in human and animal patients. The anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of LLLT, as well as its effect on collagen formation, are good indications for LLLT in traumatology, surgery and dentistry, especially after major operations.

LASER

The word Laser is actually an acronym which stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Laser generates extremely pure light, i.e. light of one wavelength, not of an entire spectrum like a light bulb. The light emitted is highly organized in flow (It may help to think of laser as a single malt scotch and not a "blend" of different wavelengths of light). Laser can be any wavelength of light, visible or invisible, high energy or low energy.

In 1917, Albert Einstein introduced his basic theory for stimulated emission of electromagnetic radiation. This theory was verified by Landberg in 1928, but at the time there were no practical possibilities for producing a functional laser. In 1951, Fabrikant, a Russian physicist submitted a patent application and subsequently published a paper on laser in 1959.

Mester, a Hungarian scientist, was the first to publish a series of articles in 1960 on the biostimulatory effect of LLLT on cell cultures. In 1963, he published the results of animal experimentation which showed that re-growth of epithelium over skin lesions was faster if the lesion was irradiated with1 Joule per square centimeter. Higher doses did not give any better effect. In fact, if the dose was increased many-fold the result was the opposite. Wound healing was inhibited.

In 1965, Laor and his team found that laser irradiation (LLLT) stimulated the rate of healing burns and mechanically induced wounds.

PHYSICS 101

A Laser is a device which produces electromagnetic radiation in the light band. Electromagnetic radiation is a form of energy flux which has properties of both a wave and a particle. These Wave-Particles are called PHOTONS.

Photons have a certain amount of energy (E) which unifies these two properties of waves and particles. Energy (E) is proportional to the mass of the photon (m) according to Einstein's famous equation:

E=mc2

Energy (E) is also proportional to the frequency (f) of the photon according to the equation:

E=hf

Since f x wavelength equals c (speed of light), it follows that f=c/wavelength. Substituting above, E is proportional to 1/wavelength, or the Energy of a photon is INVERSLEY PROPRTIONAL to its wavelength.

Thus, the BIGGER THE WAVELENGTH OF A PHOTON, THE SMALLER IS ITS ENERGY.

When a PHOTON hits an object, what happens to its energy? If the photon (light) reflects from the surface of the object, the photon retains its energy. If the photon is transmitted further (beyond the object), it likewise retains its energy. If the photon gets absorbed by the object however, its energy is delivered to the atoms and molecules of the object.

Depending upon the wavelength (and hence the energy) of the absorbed photon, several scenarios may occur. This absorbed energy may result in heat oscillations, i.e. the atoms/molecules become hot, if the energy is low. If the absorbed energy is higher, the atoms and molecules of the object can become excited and/or ionized. If the energy absorbed is high, it can cause the break up of chemical bonds in the atoms/molecules of the object and result in the formation of new compounds.

Laser light then, consists of photons of a specific wavelength, i.e. PURE LIGHT, and hence, a specific energy level, which can interact with a given object. The results of that interaction are dependent upon this specific wavelength (energy level).

MEDICAL LASERS

There are many different types of medical lasers available, but they can be classified into two main groups:

HIGH POWER LASERS cut coagulate and evaporate tissue. These are also known as Surgical Lasers because they replace the scalpel of the surgeon. These lasers produce photons (light) of high energy.

LOW LEVEL LASERS stimulate cell function. The effect is not thermal as in the case of surgical lasers. These non-surgical therapeutic lasers are certified Class 3A by the FDA. The energy produced by the photons of these lasers is low and does not have a thermal component that can cause injuries to users and/or operators. This low level energy does not alter molecular structures, but STIMULATES the body's mechanisms to REPAIR AND HEAL itself.

Low level (energy) laser light photons are absorbed by the chromophores within the cells. This induces increased production of cellular energy in the form of ATP, which leads to normalization of cell function, pain relief and healing. These effects are especially striking in areas of the body where cells are under stress.

The photo-energy from these low level lasers is low and remains a long way below the levels needed for ionization of the atoms and molecules of the cells. Thus no induction of cancer growth has been linked to these lasers. The risk of eye injury is almost non-existent, but goggles are recommended.

LLLT FOT HAIR LOSS (ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA)

What type of laser device would benefit patients with androgenetic alopecia? The devices being promoted must be safe for use. They must be effective to meet the manufacturer's claims. The consumer must know what he/she is buying, and the device must not expose the consumer to undo risks.

The therapeutic factors in choosing a laser are as follows:

(a) The wavelength of the light is important as it determines penetration depth in the target tissue. For example, red light at 670 nanometers penetrates greater than other lasers close to the red spectrum. Since wavelengths of 670-690 nanometers support the oxidation processes, it is believed that the 670 nanometer wavelengths show better efficacy in therapeutics than lower wavelength lasers.

(b) For hair applications, the first and most significant condition in choosing laser wavelength is depth penetration, which should be sufficient to target hair bulbs typically resting at 5-6 mm depth.

(c) Visible red light at a wavelength of 660 nanometers penetrates tissue to a depth of 8-10 mm so that the entire hair organ will be covered to a depth just beyond the hair bulb. Visible red light could theoretically be effective in the entire scalp and might include wounds, cuts, scars, folliculitis, etc.

(d) There is the question of continuous wave vs. pulsed operation of the laser. Pulsed operation has been shown to stimulate tissue repair and regeneration to a greater degree than continuous wave operation. Pulses have been shown to stimulate cellular activity. Pulses can regulate biologic rhythms or cycles. Finally, pulsed operation exhibits greater anti-inflammatory effects than the continuous mode.

The GOAL of LLLT is to increase the circulation of the blood to the follicle area and to stimulate the hair organs (nerves, muscles and growth centers of the follicle). The effects of LLLT to stimulate, enhance or speed up the normal life cycle and production cycle of the exposed hair follicles is presently being studied and will fast become the science by which this technology will be judged:

In 1996 Pontien published a Microcirculation study with the Laser Hair Care Device and showed an increase in blood flow.

In 2005 Weiss and McDaniel showed that photo modulation using visible light can alter the expression of genes associated with the stimulation of hair growth. They described it as more of a "minoxidil-like" effect.

EFFECTS OF LLLT

The physics of laser light, along with its known properties, led the way to a practical application for low energy lasers in medicine. Various studies have confirmed these properties on the living organism. Taken together, the data points to the following effects of low level laser light on the scalp:

(1) Increased scalp blood flow and microcirculation by 20-30%
(2) Increases nutrient supply to enhance hair growth
(3) Stimulates and accelerates hair growth
(4) Stops the progression of hair loss
(5) Repairs and improves hair shaft quality
(6) Reduces excess levels of skin 5 alpha reductase and DHT which contribute to genetic thinning
(7) Relieves scalp conditions such as psoriasis, seborrhoeic dermatitis, itchy/scaling scalp (anti-inflammatory properties)
(8) Normalizes sebum production (also increases production in under activity and dryness and decreases production in over activity or greasiness)
(9) Reduces tight, tender scalp

These effects also make LLLT excellent adjunct therapy for pre-operative and post-operative Hair Restoration procedures.

TREATMENT PROGRAMS

In developing treatment programs with LLLT one must first consider whether the treatment will be administered with a Class 3A laser machine, with a hand held laser device, or with both.

The larger Class 3A Laser Machine is a patented cool laser which creates a soft halo of light around the scalp. The light is delivered from multiple rotating laser positions designed to increase blood flow to the scalp. There are 30 diode lasers rotating in a half sphere around the head delivering pulsed low laser energy to the scalp. This requires twice weekly or more visits to the clinic. The use of adjunct products, including a vasodilator, is recommended. FDA approval for the use of this laser for hair loss is pending.

The hand held laser comb is a hand held wand-like instrument with laser light ports arranged across its surface like the teeth of a comb. It is used at home 3 to 4 times weekly for 10-15 minutes per use. It is easy to use and convenient for the patient, so compliance is high. FDA approval for its use for hair loss is pending. It is accepted as a medical device in Canada. This allows advertising to make therapeutic claims about the hand held laser device such as its ability to increase the strength of scalp hair in men and women, its ability to prevent scalp hair loss in men and women, and its ability to cause re-growth of scalp hair in men and women.

Studies with the hand held laser comb have reinforced these claims:

In 2003, Martin Unger showed that LLLT has been found to have biomodulating effects on human hair and hair follicles. 97% of the patients studied had some benefit in improvement of hair characteristics, stabilization of hair loss or hair re-growth (defined by Unger as an increase of hair count by 11% or more from baseline).

Santino and Markou, in 2003, studied 35 patients (28 males, 7 females) with androgenetic alopecia on the LaserMax Comb. The treatment regimen was an every other day application of the comb for 5-10 minutes for 6 months. The results showed that, all patients considered, 93.5% of patients had a hair count increase and 78.9% had an increase in hair tensile strength.

There are ongoing FDA trials for men and women with thinning hair. These individuals undergo two treatments per week with the hand held laser comb for 6 months. All of the details of the trials are not available but preliminary results show that in men, 10% had stabilization of both frontal and vertex hair loss, 84.6% had re-growth of some hair in the frontal area and 82.8% had re-growth of some hair in the vertex. In women, 100% had stabilization of hair loss in the vertex, 87.5% had stabilization of hair loss in the frontal area, 75% had re-growth of some hair in the frontal area and 96.4% had re-growth of some hair in the vertex. Thus far, no side effects or eye damage has been reported.

CANDIDATES FOR LLLT

Based upon the information thus far and the various clinical trials in progress, a potential list of candidates for LLLT for hair loss is as follows:

Men and women between the ages of 18 and 65

Thinning to moderate hair loss

Patients ineligible for hair Restoration Surgery due to early stages of hair loss

Women experiencing diffuse or general thinning including the sides and the back

Pre and Post operative hair restoration.

There are three general categories of user experience with LLLT as regards to hair loss. 45% of patients will see positive results after 8 weeks of treatment, 45% will see positive results after 10-16 weeks of treatment and 10% see improvement after 16 weeks.

Finally, to give an idea of the types of laser programs that exist, the Hair Restoration Group has three different programs. Patients choose a program based upon specific needs.

The IN-CLINIC PROGRAM consists of 46 sessions of LLLT over 12 months with three cappilliscope readings to measure hair density. The AT HOME AND IN CLINIC PROGRAM utilizes the hand held laser comb three times a week for ten minutes at home with 12 monthly LLLT sessions in the clinic. Finally, there is a POST-OPERATIVE LLLT PROGRAM consisting of 2 twenty minute sessions of LLLT per week for 8 weeks. The patients undergoing post-operative LLLT notice that healing is accelerated, scarring is minimized (especially in the donor area), graft growth is accelerated, graft appearance is improved and post-operative swelling does not occur.

Top 6 Nutritional Supplements and how to booty them for Muscle-Building and General Fitness Training

There are 6 nutritional supplements available, however, that are indispensable for enhancing muscle-building and fat loss. Given the importance of a good diet, this should be the highest priority in any fitness training program. Once your diet is tuned to perfection, adding the right nutritional supplement at the right time will take a great thing and make it better.

Certain bodybuilding supplements are extremely valuable in particular situations, especially when the goal of your weight training program is to lose fat while building muscle. Our bodies have been designed to survive the harshest of conditions, readily storing body fat during times when food is plentiful and shedding it (along with muscle-tissue) when food is scarce. While this characteristic of our metabolism kept us alive through the ice-ages, it makes things really difficult for building a lean-muscular physique (that is if you are not busy running from saber-tooth tigers and fighting rival tribes!).

The right supplementation in the context of your bodybuilding or fitness workouts (pre and/or post-workout) can "trick" the body into thinking it has what it needs so that muscle-mass is preserved. What happens during intense weight training and cardiovascular exercise is that our bodies, along with burning glycogen and body fat, are also very efficient at breaking down muscle tissue. This metabolic adaptation helps to preserve energy stores at the expense of metabolically costly muscle-tissue; if you are starving the more muscle you have the quicker you will die (good for us back in the cave-man days, but bad for us now!). Our muscles are constantly being broken down and built back up from hard weight training, and if we could shift the balance just slightly away from degradation (catabolism) and toward accumulation (anabolism), this would have a huge effect on the effectiveness of our muscle training program.

My top-6 list of indispensable nutritional supplements:

1. glutamine

How Glutamine works: glutamine is known as a "conditionally essential" amino acid; it becomes "essential" during intense exercise such as weight training or cardiovascular exercise, as the need for glutamine is greatly increased. During bouts of intense activity (or stress), glutamine enters the bloodstream and travels into the liver where it is converted into glucose; this newly synthesized glucose helps to fuel the working muscles. This process is known as gluconeogenesis-the process of turning a non-carbohydrate substance (glutamine and some other amino acids) into glucose which can be used for energy. While this all sounds great for the muscles, the problem is that the primary source of glutamine during exercise is from broken down muscle tissue; the body actually breaks down muscle tissue to help fuel the working muscles by preserving their glycogen stores1. Supplying the muscles with an exogenous source of glutamine (i.e a glutamine supplement, has been shown to reduce muscle degradation during intense exercise-the body is "tricked" into not breaking down as much muscle tissue.

2. Branched chain amino acids (BCAAS)

How BCAAs work: Unlike glutamine, BCAAs, consisting of leucine, isoleucine, and valine, are essential amino acids, meaning that the body cannot synthesize them from precursors-they must be obtained from the diet. Like glutamine, there is a greater requirement for BCAAs during intense exercise such as weight training and they are derived primarily from catabolized muscle tissue. BCAAs are broken down into (among other things) alanine and glutamine (remember glutamine?) which are in-turn used to generate glucose in the liver. Supplementing with BCAAs will help to prevent their degradation in muscle tissue, limiting muscle-degradation and speeding up recovery. Leucine itself has been shown to stimulate protein synthesis, and research has shown that the BCAAs have a positive effect on recovery, can reduce fatigue, and encourage an overall anabolic state in the muscle. BCAAs seem to be especially effective in times of reduced calorie intake (i.e. while dieting down to lose that last 5lbs).

3. Protein: (whey protein isolates)

How whey protein works: This one may seem like a no-brainer; proteins are made of amino acids and as discussed above, certain aminos can greatly enhance your weight training efforts. Whey protein is a great protein source because it is very high in both BCAAs and glutamine; any whey protein will have these qualities, but after a weight training workout timing is the key. Many whey proteins are a mixture of both whey isolate and whey concentrate. Whey protein isolate is absorbed extremely fast, while whey concentrate is broken down more gradually over time. Fast-acting proteins such as whey isolate are known as "anabolic proteins", dumping tons of amino acids into the bloodstream very quickly, promoting muscle-growth. Slower acting proteins such as whey concentrate, soy protein concentrate, or calcium casienate (milk protein) are known as "anti-catabolic proteins"; they provide a slow, steady release of amino acids into the bloodstream helping to reduce muscle-protein breakdown for fuel. After a weight training workout, we want our protein to get there fast-whey protein isolate is ideal for this purpose.

4. Creatine monohydrate:

How creatine works: Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is the primary energy source to fuel intense muscular contractions, such as those during sprinting or weight-training. ATP contains a high-energy phosphate bond, which is broken down into ADP (adenosine monophosphate), releasing the energy necessary for muscles to contract. Every muscle cell has a store of phosphate, from which ADP is recycled back into ATP to continue fueling contractions. As this pool of phosphate gets depleted, so does our ability to make ATP; when we run out of ATP the muscle is exhausted and unable to further contract (i.e. the muscle fails such as on the last rep of a bench press). It was discovered some time ago that our muscles can actually be "loaded" with additional phosphate, which can extend our capacity to do high-intensity exercise. Phosphate is stored in the muscle as creatine phosphate, which acts to replenish cellular phosphate stores. When creatine monohydrate is ingested, it is converted to creatine phosphate and absorbed into the muscle cell, helping to replenish the phosphate pool. After an intense workout, muscle phosphate levels are drastically decreased. Supplementing with creatine post-workout replenishes creatine phosphate stores much faster, speeding recovery. Creatine also acts through unknown mechanisms to increase protein synthesis and muscle growth. For every molecule of creatine absorbed into the muscle, several molecules of water are absorbed, giving the muscles a fuller, more pumped appearance. A hydrated muscle is an anabolic muscle.

4. Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs)

How EFAs work: Without getting too much into fatty acid biochemistry, EFAs are required by the body for a countless number of processes, and are an essential element to any nutritional supplementation regimen whether for bodybuilding, athletic training, or general fitness training. The typical American diet is largely deficient in EFAs, and dieters often have less than optimal levels while on low-fat diets. There are 3 basic EFAs which are named based on their chemical structure, including omega-3, 6, and 9. Most commercial EFA supplements are a blend of the various EFAs, providing an ideal EFA profile.

5. Meal replacement powders (MRPs): Commonly known as the "protein shake", MRPs serve not only as a convenient protein supplement, but as a substitute for regular meal. While real food is always best, the busy schedules of most people simply cannot accommodate the optimal 5-6 meals per day-MRPs are a great way to stay on the diet in spite of the most hectic of schedules. There are many brands commercially available with different nutrient profiles; choose the product that tastes good and provides the nutrient profile that fits for your particular diet plan.

6. Multivitamin/multi-mineral supplements: While in an ideal world we would get all the vitamins we need directly from the food we eat, in practice we can all benefit from a quality multivitamin. Stay away from the typical once/day tabs found at the supermarket. It is questionable whether these are absorbed well at all. Stick with those vitamin/mineral supplements derived from whole-food extracts-these are more readily absorbed. In addition, whole-food based multis may contain unknown substances which are found in food which are either essential or beneficial; science is constantly discovering new nutrients present in food-our current list is far from comprehensive.

There you have it, the only nutritional supplements you need to care about. They have been proven both anecdotally and with rigorous peer-reviewed research to enhance the muscle-building and fat-burning effects of any weight training and fitness program including.

Tennis Footwork and the 5 Keys to Tennis Success

Great tennis footwork is the key to great tennis, which is a fact that so many players overlook.

Here are the top 5 reasons why improving your tennis footwork improves your game!!

1. GREATER SHOT POWER

Developing your footwork skills results in greater power in your shots for the following (and very important) reason. When you get to the ball and get set in a good position, you give yourself the chance to hit the ball using as many body parts as you can. If you don't, you end up hitting the ball just using your arm or maybe off balance.

Think about it like this, a boxer doesn't land a knockout punch by flicking out a jab. The knockout blow is always made by getting the feet in the right position so that all the bodyweight can go into the punch. The same is true in tennis.

2. MORE SHOT OPTIONS

Improving your tennis footwork gives you greater flexibility of shot choice because you get there earlier and in a better position. You get to choose what stance you use to play the shot (open stance, closed stance, neutral etc). You also get to choose where you play the shot and with what stroke (cross court, down the line, backhand, forehand, deep or short, passing shot or lob to name but a few. Without it you will have fewer choices available and the choices you do have may well end up suffering from poor execution.

3. REDUCED ERRORS

FACT! As many as 70% of unforced are down to poor footwork - ATP statistic. What would it mean to your game to reduce your unforced errors by as many as 7 out of 10? Do I need to say any more?

4. STAY IN POINTS FOR LONGER

Improving your footwork for tennis will also improve your agility, balance and co-ordination which are all critical for higher levels of play.

You will be able to get to more balls, more often (even when under pressure) and that forces your opponent to play 1, 2 or 3 more shots than they expect to and maybe want to and that gives them more chances to miss.

5. BETTER TENNIS SPEED & TENNIS FITNESS

If you work on improving your footwork, you will have no choice but to improve your tennis speed and tennis fitness - no bad thing.

I have seen many many good "technical" players lose to so-called "lesser" players who had superior court speed, movement and fitness.

This goes back to the point above and links in with forcing your opponent to play as many shots as possible.

Not only will it draw more errors in the short term but over the course of a match the tiredness they begin to feel has a major impact on their error rate as they get more tired.

So, if you really want to improve your game, it's very simple - Leave your racket in the bag and work on your footwork.

HERE'S HOW TO DO IT!

The first thing you need to do is stop running so much on the court. You should only run if you are a long way from the ball and it is the only way to get there quickly.

Apart from that most of your movements around the court should be made using side shuffles and cross over steps.

Start by incorporating tennis footwork patterns into the warm up routines of every one of your lesson/practice times.

Then progress up to using cones (for zig zags etc) and ladders as training aids.

Start slowly with simple footwork exercises and build up the speed of execution & difficulty of drill as you improve.

Specific Weight Training Goals

Do you know what you are training for? What is your goal? If I had a pound for every time I saw someone training with no aim or direction in the gym, I most probably wouldn't be writing this article right now. Are you trying to pound on a few pounds of muscle? Want to get a little stronger? You may not realise it but everything you do in the gym affects your progress to your goals. The weight you use. The rep range you perform. The rest in between sets. All of these need to be looked at and adjusted for you to achieve your goal.

For Definition

One of the main reasons people work-out is vanity! People like to look good, and with the 'metro-sexual' man becoming a focal point of the modern world, we should look at the type of training you should be performing for that chiseled torso and rock hard abs every guy wants. For muscle definition, you should be looking at using roughly 65% of your one repetition max. This will ensure you get a good pump and activate the muscles well enough to stimulate growth. You should look to get 12-15 repetitions for each set, and between 2-3 sets for each exercise. As you are trying to keep your heart rate relatively high (to maximise fat burning) you should not rest for more than 30 seconds between sets.

For Muscle

Before you start to shape and perfect your body, first you'll need some muscle! Building muscle is one of the most common reasons for working out, and to get some you should be using 65-85% of your one repetition max on exercises. Moving on from earlier, for hypertrophy you should be looking at hitting 6-12 repetitions for 3-5 sets per exercise. For muscle growth you should increase your rest time to 30-90 seconds. This will allow your muscles to recover and your ATP stores to replenish ready for your next set.

For Strength

Do you want to be the next Mariusz Pudzianowski? Or even just the strongest guy in your gym? Training for strength can sometimes trip up the most avid gym enthusiast, and leave them plateauing for month after month. If you want to get strong, you're going to have to lift heavy! You should be using a weight that is around 85-95% of your one repetition max for 2-6 repetitions. Aim for 4-6 sets for each exercise and you'll be on your way to being the envy of the gym in no time. You'll be lifting heavy though remember, so you'll need some time to recover in between sets. Try to rest for around 90-180 seconds.

For Power

For power you should be going all out during your sets, therefore a weight that is 95% of your one repetition max and above is needed to stimulate the correct fibers and energy system. Due to the high level of weight you will only be able to get 1-2 repetitions but they will be very productive, so don't worry about the low amount of time your sets take. Similar to strength training, when you are training for power you should look at 4-6 sets per exercise. You will need longer to recover after each set when training for power. Therefore you should rest around 180-240 seconds between sets.

Conclusion

Whatever you're training for, to make progress to your goal you must keep progressing with the weight your lifting. If you can get 2 or more repetitions out at the end of the set, the weight is too light! Increase the weight by 5% for upper body exercises and 10% for lower body exercises when this happens.

Creatine Works If You Know How To Work It - Build Muscle Fast

Don't believe those that say, "Creatine does not work for me" or "Creatine causes me to retain water" or "Creatine upsets my stomach." Creatine is still the most effective muscle building supplement ever for those that understand how and when it is used as an energy source in the body.

How is creatine used as an energy source in the body? First, Let's talk a little about ATP (the life force of all living matter), the first energy source burned as fuel in the body. The other five energy sources for the body: creatine, glycogen, glucose, fatty acids and amino acids all must be converted to ATP (in that order) to be burned as fuel in the body.

Knowing when creatine is converted to APT is key in knowing how to get the best results in muscle building. Like ATP, creatine can be stored in the muscle, which means it does not need oxygen to burn. It is a short explosive energy burn. The ATP stored in the muscle is the most effective explosive fuel source, which burns for about four or five seconds at 100 percent muscle contraction in an all out effort, such as weight lifting or sprinting. Creatine then is converted to APT and burns for about six or seven seconds at nearly 100 percent muscle contraction. Knowing this tells us how we must train to get the best results with creatine. A weight training set needs to be completed with in ten to twelve seconds, which means heavy weight and low reps.

Another interesting fact about creatine is its ability to recycle itself to be used again as fuel. With one minute rest creatine will recycle itself about 50 percent. Resting four minutes between sets increases recycling ability to 90 percent. Creatine will be available for about ninety minutes.

Now, let's look at how other fuels burn so you won't be tempted to go beyond twelve seconds if you want maximum results. Glycogen and glucose burn respectively after creatine for up to two minutes at no more than 70 percent muscle contraction. The higher the percentage of muscle contraction the stronger the muscle. After twelve seconds, muscle contraction/muscle strength quickly falls off due to the type of fuel being burned as energy. Workouts fueled with creatine instead of glycogen and glucose just makes good sense if maximum results are desired.

Let's sum it up. Long-lasting training sessions of over ninety minutes are not good because creatine has been depleted and the fuel used for energy will be amino acids, which is muscle.
Also, creatine will not cause water weight or stomach upset if it is taken with a high glycemic carbohydrate drink with enough liquid to completely dissolve the powder.

How to Apply the Creatine Protein Supplement

The creatine protein supplement is a based upon the naturally occurring creatine, which occurs in certain foods, and within the human body. The creatine in the human body is primarily found in the muscles and act as a supply source of energy to the muscles. The acid was discovered as a component of skeletal muscle in 1832. This organic acid is furthermore not found in vegetables, and is primarily found in meat.

During strenuous workouts, the creatine protein supplement is especially helpful to the user in that it aids in the production of Adenosine Triphosphate, otherwise referred to as ATP. This source of energy is used by the body, and specifically the muscles particularly during short bursts of activity. This is therefore not completely recommended for the endurance sports person, as a different sort of energy production and requirement is needed for those long and arduous activities that they participate in.

The creatine protein supplement is available in a variety of forms and applications, which represents a great advantage for the user, as certain forms may not provide as beneficial results as others, which means that if you do take the creatine protein supplement in one form, and you do not realise the benefits thereof then you should try another form. The forms that are available vary from the monohydrate, to capsules and powder form and even available in that of the liquid form.

The process within which the creatine protein supplement functions is essentially based upon the amount of water that the supplement pulls from across the body and transfers to the muscles. Therefore should you be using this supplement it is vital that you drink plenty of water and remain hydrated so that the supplementation process can run correctly as well as to avoid any potential side effects that may result due to dehydration.

The process of supplementation can be conducted via either before or after your exercising routine or both, however you only need five grams per day. If you take the creatine protein supplement before the workout then the benefits related thereto are that it provides you with additional energy which enables you to work out a little longer or with greater effort. Whilst supplementing after the exercise or work out regime will encourage faster muscle repair.

There are side effects associated with the intake of this supplement, none of which are life threatening, but the importance of remaining hydrated and drinking lots of water must be reemphasized as dehydration is definitely not an ideal situation to find yourself in. It has furthermore been analyzed and accepted by the European Food Safety Authorities, which are relatively strict in terms of supplements and related products. The creatine protein supplement offers value and a fast track in strength training on a completely natural basis.

There are drastic and expensive forms ofThe treatment, like hair transplants, where small punch-holes in the skin with a few hair follicles from other body parts (like the back of the head to be taken if this is still well covered) and implanted into the thinning areas.

Laser photo therapy invigorates the scalp and can give an answer to the question of female hair loss.

high intensity, heart, also known as cardio HIIT is one of the most effective methods for cardiovascular fast to lose weight. HIIT cardio work alternating short periods of high intensity with short rest breaks and light. It is the alternation of hard times the exercise with gentle exercise. The goal is a high work rate, while keeping your body is working hard and very intense. The heart rate remains high. The short rest periods at work allows meetings betwenThe recovery of the ATP-CP energy system anaerobic.

An example of a high intensity cardio workout can be done with the fast running or sprinting. Keep the ratio of 1:1 work to rest. This means that the same amount of rest time, as the exercise. So, say, as a way of training HIIT sprints. You can set a time limit of 1 minute for the sprint. The training will be similar

Sprint to stand for 1 minute, then 1 minute walk or easilyJogging

Sprint to stand for 1 minute, you can jog and then walk one minute or slightly

The total comes up to 2 circuits HIIT cardio session. Repeat the circuit 4 times, have been completed for a total of 6 circuits. So basically, you alternate walking with the same time interval. You will be able to run faster and have a higher rate for the work session with this approach. This will also increase metabolism for up to 48 hours after training, so that you losevery rapidly in importance. This training may be less traditional than LSD, slow distance cardio duration of 45 minutes to an hour, but the benefits of increased metabolic activity to burn more fat loss results. Medications For Type 2 Diabetics

Diabetes type 2 is a chronic metabolic disorder that is characterized by insulin resistance. It is a disease that lacks a permanent or perfect cure. For sufferers management is the only option.
Management of this syndrome entails medication, exercise, diet and life style modification.

Applying medications is one amongst the few ways of managing diabetes type2. The medication could be in the form of oral or injectable drugs. People with diabetes type 2 need medicine (medication) because it can help their body in manufacturing more insulin which can help decrease insulin resistance or lower the rate at which their body absorbs carbohydrate.

There are 5 basic classes of medications that can be used in the management of diabetes they are

Sulfonylueas; -

This is an example of an anti diabetic drug that can be used in the effective management and treatment of diabetes. It is mostly applied in the treatment of diabetes mellitus type 2. It has some mild side effect like inducing hypoglycemia when insulin production overshoots. This could be corrected by taking sugary foods. Sulfonylueas are greatly ineffective in the treatment of diabetes type 1 or post pancreatectomy where there is absolute deficiency of insulin.

Meglitinides; -

These are drugs that are used in the treatment of diabetes. They treat diabetes by blocking the potassium channel in the beta cell, This closes the ATP dependent potassium channels and opens the cells calcium channel. The resulting calcium influx aids in stimulating the beta cells into releasing more insulin.
One of the side effects of meglitinides is hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) which occurs because meglitinides stimulate the beta into releasing insulin.

Thiazolidinediones; -

These are drugs that act as an adjunctive therapy for diabetes type 2. They help in the reduction of the level of glucose produced in the liver, and also help the insulin to function better in the muscles and fat. They are very useful and effective in lowering the level of glucose in the blood
Some of its side effects include increase risk of hepatitis, liver damages, heart failure and fluid retention resulting in edema. Some of these side effects are more pronounced if there is a withdrawal or discontinuation of usage.

Alpha-glucosidase inhibitors;-

These are oral anti-diabetic drugs that are used for the treatment of diabetics type 2. They are useful in the treatment of diabetics type 2 because they help in preventing the digestion carbohydrate by converting it into monosaccharides (simple sugar) which can easily be absorb by the intestines. They also slow the breakdown of certain sugars. After meal, their actions are capable of slowing down the rise in the level of glucose in the blood.
The side effect of this drug include diarrhea and flatulence which are dose related

Biguanides;-

These are oral hypoglycemic drugs which are useful in the treatment of diabetes they help in lowering the blood glucose level by making the tissues of the body especially the muscle tissues more sensitive to insulin It has some side effect which include diarrhea and lactic acidosis.
In applying medications to diabetes type 2, regular check is also advised. This should be done to ascertain the effect the drugs are having on our bodies.

The Vital Formula For a Toned Body

We often read online about topics of toning the body or toning the muscles. Some people misinterpreted the concept of a toned body in so many ways. To set the record straight, let us define first what muscle tone is. What do experts say about it?

What is muscle tone?

Simply put it is the state where muscles are slightly contracted. This means that for it not to grow fatigued muscle fibers should alternately contract to maintain tone-up.

What is muscle contraction?

A contraction is the shortening and lengthening of a muscle with the help of Adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

What is a toned body?

A toned body therefore, is a body with muscles that are slightly contracted. If they are slightly contracted, then the body could react more rapidly to stimuli and tissue coordination is improved tremendously. Flabby abs indicate their poor tone.

How can you improve this though?

Since toning involves their slight contraction, one way of improving it is to exercise. There are various simple routines that you can do to improve having a great body.

Isometric exercises

These include exercises that can cause contraction but produces no movement. Examples of these are pushing against a wall. These exercises also develop tissue strength and tone.

Isotonic exercises

These include routines that also produce movement. Examples are jogging, walking, cycling, hiking, weight lifting, aerobics and the like. They do not only improve toning up but also increasing the strength, blood circulation and respiration.

In toning muscles, isotonic routines are preferred because aside from developing good muscles, they also enhance body strength and promote health and well being for a perfectly shaped figure.

If you want a toned body, you can perform easy and inexpensive exercises. Even doing household chores like vacuuming is a good routine to do. When you use your body tissues in any activity, you are already toning them; so do your own household chores daily and you would have discovered the basic formula for a great body.

Creatine - The Physical Benefits

Creatine has been thought of as synonymous with other performance enhancing drugs such as: android, anadrol, anabolic steroids, testosterone, human growth hormone, and such. Creatine is primarily used as a weight lifting supplement. To put creatine in the same category as these other performance enhancing drugs is to show how uneducated you are on exactly what it is that creatine is and tries to accomplish.

Creatine is a natural component of skeletal muscle. It is produced in synthesis in smaller amount through our natural diets, usually stemming from meats that carnivorous animals acquire through their natural diets. This is a product we intake whether we like to or not, and as it is a natural substance takin in by our bodies, I already have shown it to be a quality supplement, if taken in correct doses.

Simply speaking, creatine is a supplement which causes and increase in our muscle energy availability stores. The cells of our body store their energy in the form of a molecule known as Adenosine TriPhohsphate, or ATP. The amount of work our muscles can perform is a direct consequence of the amount of ATP they have stored as well as the ease with which ATP is regenerated with the help of PCr during strenuous exercise. Think of ATP as the cell's energy currency and phosphocreatine as a debit card with an adjustable balance - the balance being set by creatine deposit via the diet.

First and foremost, creatine enhances physical performance by increasing the number of times that ATP can be recycled during physical exertion without increasing the absolute amount of ATP stored within our muscles. In the short-term this means that creatine supplementation should improve our ability to sustain near maximal force generation during repetitive bouts of intense exercise without actually increasing the amount of peak force we can produce.

Creatine is transferred into our skeletal muscles in an inward basis. That is, the sodium levels on the inside of the living cells is greater than that of the sodium content on the outside of the cells. During your taking of creatine, eating highly glycemic foods will increase insulin injection and will help sort of soak up the creatine into your skeletal muscles much more easily.

The activity of these creatine transporters is also influenced by the presence of creatine itself in the following manners:
(1) elevated plasma creatine interrupts creatine uptake into skeletal muscle via these transporters;
(2) the synthesis of creatine from amino acids is also stopped by elevated plasma creatine.

These are nothing more than examples of normal regulatory feedback processes that are common in cell biology. However, how exogenous creatine supplementation influences these processes in humans is still an open issue. This is why it is often recommended to periodically stop taking creatine to let the body recuperate. Omitting the load phase from supplementation will also mitigate this drawback of creatine supplementation.
